+42 that is the same as executioners strike at 16 axe mastery

even Tactics warriors can spike

Both of the helms the OP lists are ugly and I would never be cought dead wearing one.
I know u can hide the head gear these days but still, I will still be able to see it in theinventory screen.
I use the ascalon helm with my gladiator set and got me the fow version of it.
Full dragon for strength
Platemail with the hex helm from denravi

frugal, and i mean REALLY frugal people might choose the worse helm if the materials cost less
No, the truly frugal stick with the FREE collectors armor from the desert/south shiverpeaks. You can also get head gear with +1 bonuses from them.

It might help if your the target of energy based skills like energy burn or energy surge to have the helm without the +1 energy

Talking Really should be armour that people won't wear

The real comment should be about the useless armour (everything knight's except for one piece - say the helm or boots). As long as Knight's is bugged (if you don't think it's bugged, read the recently changed descriptions in a non-north american language - non-english/spanish where it says the damage reduction is to THIS SPOT), nobody will wear a full knight's suit except for looks. Even then, they will usually change out of it (except one piece since the damage reduction has been shown to cover the entire body) when they go into an instance or pvp.

The only other reason (such as mine when I first started) is for people that do not know that the damage absorption on each piece of Knight's covers the entire body (which someone will point out to them eventually). It will be nice when they fix that (yeah I abuse it myself and wear Knight's with my platemail), so the rest of the armour will have a purpose.

You don't need +weapon bonuses if your job is to hold a gear and cycle stances. Hence the Tactics helm is actually useful in PvE. It's basically useless in PvE though.

Heh, that means that the guys wearing a Tactitian's Helm are anything but XD
Tactics is applying and modifying your initial strategy during a battle. If you have only one or the other helm, that would be strategy. If you have both and switch during battle to suit the fight, that is tactics. Therefore your first sentence is wrong.

ugh your all dodging the issue! The fact is that in the PvP character creation there is indeed a helmet that will never be used, so why have it?

We ALL KNOW why the PvE Tactician's Armor is there, it costs less than a Gladiator's.

In PvP character creation the helm is there, and so is the Gladiator's Helm. Everything in PvP creation that you've unlocked is free, so, why is it there? It makes no sense in PvP but it does in PvE.

Not everyone pays as little attention to other people as you do. Move along, please.

Takkun is the OP, after all, he should have some idea as to what the topic is about, don't you think?
